How BWI parking works

The terminal is a single horseshoe. Hourly is attached. Daily, Express, and the two Long Term lots sit off the loop and send buses to the curb. If you have bags and kids, paying for Hourly often costs less in stress than saving a few dollars and missing a bus.

Snow and summer thunderstorms both jam the Hourly entrance. When that garage is Limited, Daily still has cover and a short shuttle. Express is the middle price. Long Term A and B are the same rate — pick whichever still has room on the board.

Shuttles run all day and night. Covered shelters help in January. If you are flying Southwest or Spirit, the walk from Hourly is short enough that you can park and still make a tight connection.

Running late or staying under a day: Hourly Garage.
Overnight with cover and a bus: Daily Garage.
A cheaper covered-ish bus ride: Express.
A week away: Long Term A or B.

Which BWI lot is closest to the terminal?

The Hourly Garage. It is the only lot you walk from. Daily, Express, and both Long Term lots are shuttle rides.

Is Long Term A or Long Term B cheaper at BWI?

They post the same daily rate. Use the board and take whichever still shows Open. Sunday nights often fill one field before the other.

When does BWI Hourly fill?

Weekday mornings when Baltimore and Washington both feed I-195, and Sunday nights. If Hourly is already Limited, Daily still has cover and a short bus.

Does BWI have covered parking that is not Hourly?

Yes. Daily is a covered garage with a shuttle. Express has covered bus shelters. Long Term is cheaper and more exposed between the car and the shelter.
